What this domain name published in each of its four eras, with the dates, the documents, and the parts we could not establish.

Why this page exists

A reader who arrives here from a link published in 2011 has good reason to think they are on a company’s website. They are not, and no amount of small print at the foot of a page fixes that. This is the long version: what this domain name served in each period we can document, what happened to the company that used it first, what happened to its product, and what we have not been able to establish. It is maintained, it is dated, and where the record runs out we say so rather than filling the gap with a plausible story.

The short version, and the part that matters legally, is on About: we bought a lapsed domain name from the public drop pool, we did not buy, inherit or continue any business, and we are not connected to anyone who used this name before us.

How this page was made

Everything below comes from three kinds of record, none of them ours. The first is the Internet Archive’s capture index for this hostname, queried through the CDX API and filtered to responses that returned HTTP 200 with a content type of text/html, collapsed to one record per address. That query returns 88 distinct addresses.1 The second is the set of filings made to the SEC by one registrant, CIK 0001446159, retrieved from EDGAR.2 The third is the FDA’s premarket notification record for the product the domain was known for.3 All three were retrieved on 2026-08-06 and the query is reproducible:

Two limits on what any of this can show, stated before the dates rather than after them. A capture is evidence that an address returned some content on the day it was crawled; it is not evidence of what that address served on any other day, and the gap between two captures is not a fact about the site. And a capture index says nothing at all about who held the registration — the archive records what a server answered, not who paid for the name. Where we write that this domain “served the website of” a company, that is the claim the archive supports, and it is deliberately narrower than a claim about ownership.

Era 1 — the company’s website, 2007 to about 2013

The oldest record the index returns is dated 2007-03-09, and it is not much of a website: the homepage capture is a stub announcing a redirect to a portal server.1 Through 2008 the surviving addresses are the plumbing of a Metadot content management system — a login form, a registration form, a password-reset form, a handful of numbered content identifiers.1 Nothing of editorial substance from that generation survives in the index, and we would not reproduce it if it did.

By May 2009 the site was a conventional brochure — home, products, company, contact, news and events — first at .php addresses and later, by mid-2012, at directory paths on a different platform.1 The company was BioDrain Medical, Inc., incorporated in Minnesota on 2002-04-23 and registered with the SEC from November 2008.2 Its subject, and therefore the subject this domain became known for, was automated direct-to-drain disposal of surgical fluid waste and its contrast with collecting that waste in canisters. That is a real and still-contested question in operating-room practice, and it is why this publication is about the documents behind that question rather than about anything else.

We are describing that site, not reproducing it. No sentence of its copy is quoted, paraphrased or argued with anywhere on this domain, including as a foil. Nothing about the archived contact page is republished here either, except one corroborating detail: it gave the same Mendota Heights, Minnesota address that appears on the FDA clearance summary for the product,3 which is good evidence that the site was the company’s. It is not evidence about who held the domain registration, and we do not treat it as such.

The FDA record for the product, in three sentences

The system was cleared through premarket notification K090759 on 2009-04-01, as substantially equivalent, under 21 CFR 878.4780 — powered suction pump, Class II, product code JCX — with the applicant of record given as Biodrain Medical, Inc.3 The FDA does not update the applicant field of a clearance when a cleared device changes hands, so the database still shows that name; we therefore say nothing about who holds the clearance now, because we could not establish it from a primary source.4 This is not a reference entry about that clearance, we do not maintain one, and there is no row for it in the claims ledger — the number is here only because it dates the product this domain was known for.

The company, renamed four times

The single fact that resolves most of the confusion about this domain is that BioDrain Medical, Inc. was never acquired and never dissolved. It changed its name, four times, and each change is a filed document. The registrant is the same throughout: SEC CIK 0001446159, whose own former-names record lists exactly four former names.5 The first change is the one that empties this domain name of its subject.

Effective August 6, 2013, the Company changed its name from “BioDrain Medical, Inc.” to “Skyline Medical Inc.” … Effective August 8, 2013, the Company’s trading symbol for its shares of common stock on the over-the-counter bulletin board changed from “BIOR” to “SKLN” as a result of this above-described name change.

Three further renames followed, and one reincorporation. Sources disagree by three days on the fourth: the 8-K reports the Delaware certificate of amendment as effective 2019-06-10,6 while the EDGAR former-names record for the same registrant gives 2019-06-13.5 Both are primary, so we write “June 2019” and do not pick one.

The product left before the last rename. On 2025-03-14 the registrant sold the fluid-disposal business outright to DeRoyal Industries, Inc., a Tennessee corporation, and the filing describes what changed hands.

… the assets and liabilities exclusively related to the business of providing products for automated, direct-to-drain medical fluid disposal, including the Company’s STREAMWAY® product line … These assets were operated by the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Skyline Medical Inc.

The same filing gives the price as $625,000 plus the assumption of certain liabilities, and lists what transferred: inventory and equipment, the intellectual property including trademarks, the device master records and design history files, the regulatory permits and authorisations, the customer contracts, and the lease.10 The accompanying release states that DeRoyal would offer the product line under its own brand.12 DeRoyal owns and markets it today, and DeRoyal is where anyone looking for the system should go. STREAMWAY is a registered trademark of its owner and is used on this site only to refer to the product by its name.

What the renamed registrant does now is not medical. Its most recent annual report describes a business in graphics-processing-unit compute capacity and a digital-asset treasury strategy, from an address in Pittsburgh.13 The subsidiary that still carries the Skyline Medical name is described in the same report as limited to wind-down activities, substantially complete at the end of 2025.13 We have no relationship with any of these parties, we cannot forward mail to them, and we publish nothing about their securities.

Era 2 — affiliate pages, about 2015 to 2020

After the company stopped using the name, the domain ran a WordPress installation publishing consumer-health affiliate content in two categories: erectile dysfunction and weight loss. Category pages under both terms were captured on 2016-12-05, a page at the first term was still being captured on 2020-09-21, and an image left in the site’s own upload directory dates the diet-supplement phase to October 2016.1 The surviving assets are the ordinary furniture of that kind of site: a theme, a contact-form plugin, a stock photograph of fruit.

None of it had anything to do with surgical waste, with operating rooms or with the company. We are naming the two terms once, here, because the history is checkable in ninety seconds and a publication whose method is showing you the source cannot be coy about its own; they appear nowhere else on this site, and no page of that era is reproduced, summarised or restored. Every one of those addresses returns 404, and none of them is redirected anywhere.

Era 3 — dormant, 2021 to 2024

Little happened, and we can prove less. Homepage captures in this window are mostly redirects. A crawl on 2022-10-21 was still fetching stylesheet paths belonging to the 2007-era content management system alongside an image path in the shape used by a hosted site builder, which suggests a placeholder rebuild at some point in the period.1 We cannot say who held the name in these years, what it served, or whether it served anything at all for months at a time, and we are not going to guess.

Era 4 — a cloaked gambling site, 2025

In 2025 the domain served roughly 35 pages of a Chinese-language site beneath a single randomised directory path — pCs6abNC2r. The captures cluster on 2025-10-07.1 The pages were a scraped copy of an unrelated foreign property-development company’s corporate website, retitled, with a footer carrying a link farm pointing at sports-betting brands. This is a well-worn pattern: an expired or hijacked domain with some residual reputation is used to host a betting-brand landing network under a token directory that ordinary visitors never see.

That path is named once on this site, in the sentence above, and nowhere else. No page name from it, no brand it linked to, and no string of its text appears anywhere on this domain, deliberately: repeating them would republish exactly the association we are here to end. Nothing under that path exists now, nothing under it is redirected, and nothing ever will be — every address beneath it returns 404 by configuration, which is the correct treatment and also the only honest one.

The registration under which this site is published

The registry creation date for this domain name is 2026-08-06T03:39:52Z, the registrar is Cloudflare, Inc., and the registration expires 2027-08-06.14 That is a public record and it takes one lookup to check.14 A creation date in 2026 against a capture history that begins in 2007 means one thing: the earlier registration ended and the name was re-registered from the public drop pool. We did not buy it from whoever held it before, we do not know who that was, and we have no relationship with them or with anyone named on this page.

What we did with the old addresses, and why

There is exactly one redirect on this domain. The address /contact.php returns a 301 to /contact/, because that address still carries editorial links from trade-press releases published while the company was operating, and a contact page is a genuinely equivalent destination for a reader who clicks one: same function, same intent, and an honest notice at the top saying who we are not.

Every other legacy address returns 404, on purpose. The product, company, board and news addresses are not redirected to anything, because a redirect from a company’s product page to our front page is a claim of continuity, and we are not the continuation of that company. The affiliate addresses are not redirected because restoring that association would be worse than the 404. The gambling path is not redirected because catching those links would pass their association into our pages. A 404 is not a failure of the site; on this domain it is most of the editorial position.

What we could not establish

This is the part of the record we would most like a reader to improve, and the part we are least willing to fill in with inference.

• Who held the registration before us, in any period. The capture history from 2007 to about 2013 is consistent with the company controlling the name, but we did not retrieve a historical registrant record and we do not assert a chain of custody we have not read. The page whose whole value is accuracy about custody may not invent custody.
• When each era began and ended. Every date on this page is the date of a capture or of a filing. The spans between them are labelled “about” because that is all the evidence supports.
• Who published the 2015–2020 affiliate site, and who placed the 2025 injection. Neither is recorded in anything we retrieved, and we do not know whether the second was a compromise of a live site or a fresh build on a name somebody had already let go.
• Whether the earlier registration was allowed to expire or was lost. The creation date tells us the name was free; it does not tell us why.
• How the product’s FDA clearance is held today. The clearance record still names the original applicant, and the agency does not update that field on a transfer, so the database cannot answer the question either way.4

Every claim above is checkable without asking us. The archive query is printed in full near the top of this page and runs in a browser. The filings are on EDGAR under CIK 0001446159, which is a stable identifier that survived all four renames. The clearance record is in the FDA’s premarket notification database and the summary is a public PDF. The registry creation date is in WHOIS.
